Shriya has over 10 years of corporate and counselling experience. Her passion to create a difference in people’s lives in a positive manner coupled with her unique strengths of empathy, communication & adaptability led her to pursue counselling as a serious career.
She has completed her Masters in Counselling from Monash University, Australia and graduate diploma in counselling psychology from College of Allied educators, Singapore. Apart from this she also holds a Masters in Business Administration in human resources. She is a life-long learner and keeps upgrading herself with trainings like Mindfulness and Art therapy which can be helpful for her clients in therapy.
Having lived in more than 6 cities across India & South East Asia gives her a diverse view of different cultural nuances which are helpful in counselling clients from different nationalities and backgrounds.
She specializes in counselling adults and youth in areas of depression, anxiety, relationship, cyber wellness, expat relocations or any other mental health related issues. During her counselling internship at Touch Youth Intervention she has specialised in cyber addiction, gaming and mobile addiction issues of youth where she has taken up one on one sessions and family sessions as well.
She uses a blend of approaches like Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Narrative therapy, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, Acceptance commitment therapy (ACT) and Person-Centred Therapy in her practice. She is also a member of Singapore Association of Counselling (SAC) and has volunteered at Children’s Society of Singapore.
