Pet Assisted Therapy
The goal of pet assisted therapy is to help people cope with symptoms of various physical and mental conditions.
Simple interaction between animals and humans has shown to decrease stress related hormones, increase oxytocin hormone responsible for the sense of happiness and trust and lower blood pressure. By tapping into these qualities between animals and humans, to bring about calm and relaxation, a source of comfort, social support and fulfilling the human need for touch; pet assisted therapy creates an environment for stress and anxiety relief, redirecting focus when PTSD is triggered, in calming both children and adults with ADHD and patients suffering with chronic illness.
The very nature of animal human bond brings about natural physiology changes to enable relief from physical, emotional and mental conditions.
