My Therapeutic Philosophy
As a counsellor, I see you as a unique, whole, and evolving human being—navigating life with your own strengths, struggles, and story. You are not a diagnosis, a label, or someone who needs “fixing.” My role is to help you climb the mountains of life and stop carrying them.
Honouring Humanity. Elevating Inherent Potential
At the heart of my practice lies a deep belief in our shared humanity. We all experience longing and fear, joy and sorrow, clarity and confusion. We all carry both hopes and hurts. And within each of us lies a wellspring of psychological strength—resilience, compassion, courage, and wisdom— Every person has an innate capacity to heal, renew, grow and flourish holistically in their emotional, mental, social, relational and physical domains.
I climb besides you—gently and steadily—as we make sense of what’s unfolding within and around you, what’s limiting you, unburdening little by little and help you summit - reconnect with your inner wisdom and potential.
Transformation, One Moment at a Time
I believe transformation doesn’t always have to be dramatic. It can begin quietly—with one conversation, one insight, one habit, one breath. Whether you're struggling with emotional overwhelm, self-doubt, relationship difficulties, or simply feeling adrift or stuck, our work will centre around compassionate awareness, clarity, and sustainable, grounded change.
Transformation may feel messy and unfamiliar terrain at first, my role would be to hold space and help you acclimatize and feel secure through the process.
We meet every experience with curiosity, not criticism. Connection not correction. We aim for growth, not guilt. We practice loving awareness and intentional living, rather than moving through life on autopilot or running on empty.
Healing Begins Where Habits Shift
In our sessions, I draw from a range of therapeutic modalities—tailored to your unique needs and preferences. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach. Together, we’ll bring gentle awareness to coping patterns that may have once served to protect you, but no longer serve you. Many of these patterns—though understandable—can keep us stuck in cycles of stress, guilt, or disconnection.
Our work will focus on building insight, self-compassion, and gradually adopting healthier, more functional coping habits—so that you’re not only addressing current challenges, but building the emotional tools to navigate the ever-changing seasons of life with greater grace, clarity, and confidence.
My hope is that our time together offers you a space where you feel seen, heard, and held. A space where you can rediscover your strengths, reconnect with your values, and move forward with a renewed sense of purpose, possibility, and peace.

What to Expect During Sessions
Each session is a quiet pause in your week—a safe, steady 60 min space just for you — where you're encouraged to bring your whole self, with honesty and curiosity. It is where you can slow down, breathe, release and speak freely, in your own time and in your own way. There's no rush, no pressure. Just a gentle, honest, collaborative unfolding. For you to meet with yourself, truly, with kindness and intentionality.
Our time together is not a one-sided process but a very collaborative process, guided by you, your goals and your desired outcomes. Some moments may feel tender, vulnerable or uncomfortable, but together, we’ll approach them gently, with compassion and care.
Sometimes we may sit quietly with what arises.
Sometimes expressing or articulating emotions maybe challenging. We then use a variety of supportive tools and techniques that will help you become aware and express your emotions and thoughts, to help you connect more deeply with what’s inside.
Most times, it will involve respectful conversations, with guided questions, deep listening and reflections through which you will gently explore your inner landscape: your thoughts, emotions, memories, and the stories you carry. We’ll look together at the patterns and beliefs that may be shaping your experiences and I will invite you to look at things from new angles.
In doing so, you begin to deepen your understanding of yourself and open space for new ways of responding to life’s challenges. You may begin to see things with more clarity, loosen the grip of old narratives, and discover more flexible, life-affirming ways of thinking and relating.
My intention is never to direct or diagnose, or judge you or correct you, but to walk beside you—with presence, curiosity, and heart. So that, over time, you leave each session feeling seen, centred and more equipped to meet life’s challenges with awareness and strength.
What Results or Outcomes to Expect from Our Work Together
“You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf.” — Jon Kabat-Zinn
In my experience, healing begins not by rushing to change who we are, but by gently learning to be with ourselves—as we are—with kindness, awareness, and acceptance. I believe that every person holds within them the strength to cope, to grow, and to make meaningful shifts in life. Often, it’s not about becoming someone different, but about coming home to who you already are, beneath the noise and stress.
Through our work together, you may begin to:
-
Feel more anchored and less overwhelmed and gripped by strong emotions.
-
Notice your thoughts and habits with greater clarity and less self-judgment.
-
Respond to challenges with more awareness and less reactivity.
-
Build healthier boundaries and a deeper sense of self-worth.
-
Cultivate presence and intentionality in daily life and relationships.
-
Reconnect with what truly matters to you—from your values to your inner wisdom.
Change doesn’t always come in big leaps—it often unfolds in small, mindful steps. Whether the shifts are subtle or huge, you can expect a space that honours your pace, your goals, and your inherent ability to grow and thrive. Where you feel empowered to move forward—step by step—with confidence, compassion, and the knowledge that you’re capable of creating the life you hope for.
This is your journey, and I feel deeply honoured to walk beside you, as you learn to live with greater clarity, compassion, and calm.
My Background
My professional journey of 22 years has been one of “eyesight to insight”. I began my professional career, attending to people’s physical health as an Eye surgeon/Ophthalmologist in India, followed by working as a researcher in hospitals and the pharmaceutical industry in the US.
Life’s journey with multiple moves across the globe, made me personally experience life of a trailing spouse, displacement from home and community, career changes and adapting and integrating with new cultures constantly. This propelled me to not only become a lifelong student, but also look deeply and realize that robust mental health and well-being is such a crucial part of self-care - perhaps the very foundation of who we are and how we show up in our personal and professional lives. However, understanding and assuaging our own mind is more subtle and often neglected, but when the right help is sought, it can make a huge difference.
This is what prompted me to train myself to become a mental health counsellor and a mindfulness coach, when I moved to Singapore, in 2014, with a goal to make mental health more easily available, accessible, affordable and stigma free for all.
My past background helps me to seamlessly integrate medical, psychological and mindfulness aspects for the issue at hand for my clients. In addition, the global exposure of working with people from different walks of life with diverse cognitions and beliefs has made me more appreciative and sensitive to diverse cultural influences and conditionings and enables me to connect with clients from diverse backgrounds.
In addition to counselling, as a Certified Mindfulness Teacher, I have conducted over 100+ Mindfulness workshops for schools, corporates and the general public. As part of the Mindfulness academy, I also train folks to become certified Mindfulness teachers. I have also developed 2 mindfulness programs – Mindful Parenting and Mindfulness for Kindness & Compassion.
Happily married, I am also navigating raising 2 teenagers. Self-care for me looks like Walking/ hiking, Yoga, Pickle ball, Dancing, reading, nature photography, travelling and connecting with friends and family.
