Dr Priya Fafat
(CMT-P, CMSAC)

Psychotherapist, Mindfulness Teacher & Registered Counsellor
Dr Priya Fafat supports individuals, couples, teens, families, and seniors through psychotherapy, counselling, mindfulness, and wellbeing-based support.

Her work brings together counselling, psychotherapy, mindfulness, and reflective practice. She supports clients in understanding emotional patterns, relationship difficulties, coping habits, and life transitions with greater awareness and steadiness.
About Dr Priya
Dr Priya Fafat’s professional journey spans 22 years, beginning in physical healthcare as an Eye Surgeon / Ophthalmologist in India, followed by research work in hospitals and the pharmaceutical industry in the US.

After moving to Singapore in 2014, she trained as a mental health counsellor and mindfulness coach, with the goal of making mental health support more available, accessible, affordable, and stigma-free.

Her background helps her bring together medical, psychological, mindfulness, and multicultural perspectives in her work with clients. Her global exposure and experience working with people from diverse backgrounds also support her sensitivity to different cultural influences and life contexts.

In addition to counselling, Dr Priya has conducted over 100+ mindfulness workshops for schools, corporates, and the general public. She also trains individuals to become certified mindfulness teachers and has developed 2 mindfulness programmes: Mindful Parenting and Mindfulness for Kindness & Compassion.
How She Supports Clients
Dr Priya’s approach brings together counselling, psychotherapy, mindfulness, and reflective practice. She supports clients in exploring how thoughts, emotions, relationships, coping patterns, and life experiences may be connected.

Her work is collaborative and guided by each client’s requires, goals, and pace. Rather than seeing clients as a diagnosis, label, or someone who needs “fixing”, she creates space for clients to understand what they may be carrying, what may be keeping them stuck, and what may support steadier ways of responding.

Where appropriate, she may draw from person-centred therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based approaches, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Gottman’s Couple Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Multichannel Eye Movement Integration (MEMI), and narrative therapy.
