Su Tawana
Professional Counsellor, Clinical Hypnotherapist & Career Coach
About Su
Su Tawana’s path into therapy has been shaped by years of working at the intersection of leadership, transition, and emotional resilience. Before becoming a counsellor and clinical hypnotherapist, she spent over two decades in senior roles, including Consultant, Senior Manager, and Chief Information Officer (CIO), across major telecommunications and broadcasting companies in the APAC and EMEA regions.

She has led large teams, managed complex change, and built a business in Southeast Asia from the ground up which lasted over a decade. Through this experience, she developed a close understanding of the hidden emotional cost of high performance, including burnout, self-doubt, and identity questions that may sit beneath professional success.

Having lived and worked across multiple countries and cultures, Su also understands the emotional toll of expat life, including cultural shifts, missing home, and the strain these transitions can place on confidence, relationships, and belonging.

Personal loss has also shaped how she holds space for others. Her approach offers a grounded and compassionate space for clients to explore what feels heavy, make sense of change, and move forward at a pace that feels manageable.

How She Supports Clients
Su works collaboratively with clients through life’s complexities, offering a calming space and guiding them toward clarity and meaningful change. Her approach focuses on making complex experiences feel clearer and more manageable.

She integrates conscious approaches such as Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and solution-focused work with deeper methods such as hypnotherapy. This allows clients to explore not only how they think, but also how they respond and relate to themselves, others, and life.

Rather than framing therapy as “fixing” someone, Su supports clients in building insight, developing flexibility, noticing patterns, reframing beliefs, and creating space for new ways of thinking, feeling, and responding.

For clients who find it difficult to express their inner experience, she may use creative tools such as visual cards, visualisation, mindfulness, and Animal-Assisted Therapy to make the process feel safe and engaging.
