“Every story deserves to be heard—especially your own. In this space, you don’t have to hold it all together. Let’s take it one step at a time, together.”

Shirlyn Lim brings a rare combination of real-life empathy and strategic leadership to her therapeutic work. As a counsellor with over a decade of experience in the public and non-profit sectors, she deeply understands the human side of stress, burnout, and identity struggles—especially those faced by women balancing multiple roles.

As a wife, daughter, friend, and full-time working mother of two sons, Shirlyn is no stranger to the quiet weight of responsibility and the often unspoken experience of “mum guilt.” Her personal journey has helped shape her compassionate approach to therapy: one that honours life’s complexities while holding space for growth, clarity, and self-care.

Professionally, Shirlyn has led diverse teams in community development, fundraising, and philanthropy strategy—supporting initiatives that improve lives and connect people to purpose. Her strengths in communication, stakeholder engagement, and relationship-building allow her to connect naturally and warmly with clients from all walks of life.

Shirlyn has also volunteered extensively in social service settings—as a helpline responder and facilitator—reinforcing her commitment to accessible mental health support. Whether supporting individuals through emotional overwhelm, identity shifts, or navigating personal transitions, she brings a presence that is grounded, authentic, and empowering. Shirlyn draws from emerging therapeutic frameworks and practical tools that help clients reconnect with their strengths and make meaningful change in their lives.

Outside of work, Shirlyn enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, and reflecting through journaling. She believes therapy is not just about solving problems—it’s about rediscovering the power you’ve always had, with the support to see it more clearly.

Shirlyn was extremely patient with me. Even when I felt lost, she was always reassuring.
