About Dr Shambhavi
Dr Shambhavi Samir Alve is a Counselling Psychologist with a Ph.D. in Psychology and an MBA in Human Resources, bringing together clinical experience with an understanding of organisational and human systems.

With over 13 years of clinical practice, her work is trauma-informed and queer-affirmative, grounded in inclusivity, cultural sensitivity, and respect for each individual’s lived experience. She has worked with clients from diverse cultural, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds, supporting them through a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges.

Her clinical and community experience spans several settings across India, including military bases, schools, an orphanage, a wellness retreat centre, and NGO-based mental health services supporting cancer patients in Mumbai and Guwahati.
​
She has also facilitated mental health and wellbeing workshops for organisations across India and internationally, and contributed to the COVID Mental Health Awareness Campaign with the National Network of Depression Center India Foundation during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr Shambhavi’s experience includes work as a Visiting Counsellor at Indian military bases, School Counsellor at Essar’s Nand Vidya Niketan School in Jamnagar, Sunshine Worldwide School in Goa, and Kendriya Vidyalaya in Guwahati. She has also worked as a Counsellor at Matruchaya Orphanage in Goa and as a Hypnotherapist and EFT Practitioner at a wellness retreat centre in Goa.
​
She has supported cancer patients through NGO-based mental health services in Mumbai and Guwahati, and has facilitated workshops on mental health awareness, stress management, work-life balance, gender sensitivity, adolescent mental health, marital and relationship conflict, and internet dependency-related concerns.
​
She currently serves as Vice President of the National Mental Health Council at Women’s Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WICCI), supporting conversations around mental health policy and advocacy.
