About Christian
Christian Yan began his career in the Singapore Armed Forces. After 6 years of service, he moved into the fitness industry, where he has worked for over 20 years across numerous fitness clubs, including clubs in Melbourne and Vietnam. Over time, he progressed into managing fitness clubs and training future fitness trainers.

Through his work in fitness, Christian noticed that many clients also had mental health needs. This led him to complement his fitness and training background with counselling, completing postgraduate training in counselling psychology.

His first experience in counselling and psychotherapy was in 2005 in Australia, where he worked as a Jail Warden in the Victorian Juvenile Justice system. He worked with children and young people from 10 to 21 years old, supporting them with mental health challenges where possible.

After returning to Singapore, he continued working with youth-at-risk and others, supporting them in finding new perspectives in life. His work balances mental health support with healthy lifestyle practices, allowing him to combine mental and physical health in an integrated way.
How He Supports Clients
Christian’s approach integrates counselling, mind-body awareness, and fitness-informed support. He helps clients explore how thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and lifestyle patterns may be connected.

He uses Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) to support clients in understanding how their thoughts may influence their behaviour. He also uses Person Centred Therapy (PCT), offering guidance and support as clients work towards their personal goals.

His background in fitness and counselling allows him to support clients in building both mental and physical wellbeing, especially where stress, motivation, confidence, lifestyle habits, or emotional challenges may be affecting daily life.
