"You don’t have to struggle in silence. You can be un-silent. You can live well with a mental health condition, as long as you open up."
About Shirley
Shirley Wang graduated from the NUS Executive Master of Business Administration and has over 15 years of corporate experience across diverse industries, including MNCs and Singapore SMEs. She has also ventured into China and conducted numerous seminars and talks in Chinese.
Her interest in understanding and supporting people led her into psychology and counselling, where she completed a Master of Counselling (Advanced). Her background across corporate, community, and counselling settings supports the way she works with people from different walks of life.
Since 1995, Shirley has been actively involved in community service, including volunteering in a women’s prison, leadership organisation, and old folks’ home. Her exposure to different life contexts has shaped the way she understands people’s needs and supports clients in both personal and relational concerns.
How She Supports Clients
Shirley works with clients using a practical, reflective, and skills-based counselling approach. She supports clients in understanding how their thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and relationship patterns may be connected.
She draws from Transactional Analysis (TA), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness-based approaches. Through TA, she helps clients understand themselves and their relationships through concepts such as Life Positions and Ego States. Through CBT, she supports clients in noticing the relationship between thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. Mindfulness-based approaches may support clients in developing self-awareness and steadier ways of managing life challenges.
Her counselling work has supported couples experiencing marital conflict, individuals experiencing depression or anxiety-related concerns, parents navigating children’s upbringing, young adults with self-esteem challenges, and working adults experiencing work-related stress and burnout.

About Shirley in Mandarin / Shirley
Shirley在心理辅导过程中采用了一系列咨询模式,如TA(人际沟通分析理论)、CBT(认知行为疗法)和Mindfulness(基于正念的疗法)等等。
