“Our wounds are often the openings into the best and most beautiful part of us.”
- David Rich
Sean Chew is a trained nurse, psychotherapist, professional counsellor, and certified clinical trauma specialist dedicated to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and achieve personal growth. With extensive experience in both clinical and therapeutic settings, he specializes in trauma recovery, mood and anxiety disorders, grief, relationship challenges and identity struggles.
Sean employs an integrative therapeutic approach, combining Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy (PCT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) to provide personalized care tailored to each client’s needs. He is also trained in Multichannel Eye Movement Integration (MEMI), a trauma-focused therapy utilizing eye movements and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) to facilitate recovery.
His background as a nurse in both private and government hospitals has given him deep insight into patient care, emotional resilience, and crisis intervention. His experience as a Case Manager in a private mental health clinic further refined his ability to support individuals facing complex psychological challenges, working closely with psychiatrists, hospitals, and families to ensure coordinated care.
Currently pursuing a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in Clinical Specialization, Sean remains committed to advancing his expertise. In his role as Medical Partnership Director at Holistic Psychotherapy Centre, he fosters collaborations with healthcare providers to enhance client care.
An active member of the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC) and Singapore Psychological Society (SPS), Sean contributes to mental health discussions, speaking at events and panels on topics such as trauma, anxiety, depression, and crisis intervention. He also volunteers with social enterprises to extend mental health support to underserved communities.
Sean offers individual, couple, family, and group therapy, working with clients across various life stages. His holistic and client-centered approach ensures that every individual receives compassionate, evidence-based care to navigate life’s obstacles and build resilience.
Outside of his professional work, Sean enjoys cycling, hiking, reading, and his daily iced coffee ritual, balancing his commitment to well-being with personal passions.
